Buy or DIY: Bead and Floss Bracelet by Vivien Frank

Jewelry is a great thing. It changes your outfit from blah to wow and is one of my favorite things to buy. But sometimes you see something, or at least I do, and I think, I could totally make this myself. This so happened with the Vivien Frank bracelet I spotted at Blissany. The bracelet is a delicate combination of tiny golden beads and blue thread. And it only took me about 10 minutes to make it myself. Here is the how to....

What you need:
  • Blue sewing thread (the Vivien Frank bracelet is silk thread, but any other works just as fine)
  • Crimp beads
  • Needle
I used 1.10 metres of thread. Double the string and thread it throuch your needle. Thread as many crimp beads as you wish and crimp two beads at either end of the thread and the two beads at either end of your row of beads. Knot your bracelet like you see in the picture below, knotting only one piece of the thread around the other piece, giving you the opportunity to move your knot to open or close the bracelet.

Aaaaaaand done....

Finds of the Week: Anthro Tablewear

One of my favorite pastimes is browsing through what's new at Anthropologie. Right now they have this colorful tablewear that would give my kitchen an instant mediterranean feel. But since I'm going for a more black and white style now, I'm suggesting one of you has to adopt these and give them a loving home.

To complete the little make over of my kitchen I'm looking for a new clock to hang on the wall. Here is a selection with possible options. Not quite sure yet if I wanna hang a more classical one or a clock with a special twist.

Logo Study: Finding the Right One

Companies without a logo are no real companies, right?! My company is tiny mini small consisting only of my Etsy Shop and this blog but I've been nevertheless trying to find a logo to print on business cards or to use in headers for invoices or my shop. Since my head was all emptied out of any ideas I asked my dad while we were on vacation if he could sketch around a bit with the initials of Lela Schön and try to find a logo. He came up with the ideas you see above and I quite like it, love it even. Now I just gotta try to reproduce one of them with Adobe Illustrator and I got a logo, yeay!

Love,
Lela
